Norris Leads Oscar Piastri in Brazilian Practice Session
The British driver has outscored his teammate at each of the past five race weekends.
Lando Norris narrowly beat fellow driver and championship contender the Australian for the top spot in the dying seconds of the practice session at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
The British racer, who seized the championship lead from Piastri by one point after winning in the Mexican Grand Prix a fortnight back, topped the Australian by a mere 0.023s.
Before then, Piastri had been the quickest of the McLaren pair for most of the session before the sprint shootout due at 18:30 GMT.
The Red Bull star, the only other driver in the championship fight, trailing 36 points behind Norris, finished in P17 as his team followed a unique setup.
His teammate the Japanese driver was the sole competitor to have an incident, albeit lightly, when he rotated at Turn Four early in the session.
Tsunoda slid over the exit kerbs before rotating through the run-off area, and was blessed to avoid just a minor contact of the wall.
The Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton also lost it, at the very end of the practice, turning around through the quick descending corner before the final corner on to the pit straight.
The seven-time champion ended the session in P19, trailing teammate Charles Leclerc.
The McLaren drivers were significantly quicker of the rest of the field, with the German's car P3, over half a second behind the Australian's time.
Aston Martin's the Spanish driver was fourth quickest, with Sauber's Gabriel Bortoleto fifth from the Mercedes of George Russell and Alpine's Pierre Gasly and Williams' Sainz.
